"Om Mani Padme Hum: The Jewel in the Lotus"

Some journeys in life are not just from one city to another, but from one state of consciousness to another. Our trip on June 15th from Torremolinos to Soportújar was exactly that. Nestled in the mountains of Granada in Spain’s Andalusian region, this journey was not only a physical ascent but also a spiritual one.
Perhaps we didn’t realize it at the time, but we were actually on our way to Goddess Tara—returning to ourselves, to our hearts, to the divine feminine within.
Torremolinos is a Mediterranean coastal town that has been home to many civilizations throughout history. Traces from the Roman era, the warmth of Andalusian architecture, and the post-Franco pursuit of freedom shape its unique atmosphere. But we weren’t there for the sun or the sea—we were there to awaken a long-silent wisdom within our souls. And that awakening would come through Kundalini.
Our first stop was Tajo Cortés waterfall, hidden among the trees in 18415 Pórtugos, Granada. It felt like a sacred cleansing site. As we stepped under the waterfall, it wasn't just our bodies that were washed—our minds and hearts were also cleansed. Old thoughts, patterns, and tiredness flowed away with the water. What remained was a lightness, an emptiness. Perhaps this emptiness was necessary before approaching Goddess Tara—because how can you pour sacred water into a vessel already full?
Next, we headed to Soportújar, climbing into the clouds and mist toward a Buddhist temple: Buddhist Prayer Wheel – Rueda de Plegarias Budista. At the entrance, the sacred mantra greeted us: “Om Mani Padme Hum.” Meaning "the jewel in the lotus," this mantra represents the essence of Kundalini—each of us carrying a lotus within, searching for the jewel of awakened consciousness inside.
With me were my companions: Ukrainian fashion designer Jade Gritsfeldt, our host Olena (Lenki) Lisiana, and two dear souls I had previously guided through Kundalini awakening, Cynthia Kardenas and Kimmo Mattila. Right at the temple’s entrance, I guided them once again through a Kundalini awakening. What I saw on their faces wasn’t just a rise in energy—but a deep remembrance. Like hearing a long-lost melody for the first time again… As each of them awakened to their true essence, we began the climb toward Tara, together.
Along the trail, quotes from the Dalai Lama and other Tibetan sages were etched into stones hidden among the trees. These words were powerful, but I realized they could only be truly understood when our inner Kundalini had awakened. Wisdom isn’t just grasped with the mind—it’s felt through energy.
The most symbolic moment of the journey happened with a simple water bottle. I had saved some water for the trek, planning to offer it upon reaching Tara. But when we arrived at the statue of Green Tara, I saw it was surrounded by flowing water. I then filled my bottle with this fresh water from a nearby hose. It felt like a gesture of devotion and acceptance. When the sacred offers itself in its purest form—what more can you give in return?
The climb was challenging—rocky, steep, and hot. But upon reaching Tara, the hardships turned into stepping stones. Every step had become a purification. And then came the descent. The path became easier. Just like in our spiritual journeys: at first, everything seems difficult, confusing, and meaningless. But once you open your heart and choose love, the path begins to unfold before you.
Green Tara in Tibetan tradition represents compassion and feminine wisdom. She is also a symbolic mirror of Kundalini energy. Kundalini, being a feminine principle, rises through the chakras to the crown, burning away our shadows, traumas, and fears. Tara is the balance of that fire and compassion. She is a mother, a warrior, and an illuminator.
This journey reminded me once again that all paths are one. Whether you are Buddhist, Hindu, or Jewish—our longing is the same: to reach pure love, truth, and wholeness. And the key to that journey lies in awakening the ‘Goddess’—the Kundalini—within.
The path from Torremolinos to Tara was not just a trip—it was a pilgrimage to the depths of the heart. And when we descended that path, none of us were the same.
The deepest message of this journey was this:
True sacredness is not far away—it is hidden within us.Temples, mountains, waterfalls—they all exist to remind us of our essence.Because the greatest mountain is the love within our hearts. And the holiest water is hidden in our tears.
As we walked the path of Tara, we remembered our inner light, compassion, and feminine wisdom.
Despite the shadows of ego, we chose unity.Despite the burdens of the past, we stayed present. And above all, we learned that expressing love, no matter what, is a sacred act.
Just as Kundalini rises through the spine to the crown chakra, our personal paths ascend too. But that path doesn’t begin in others—it begins in our breath, in our steps, in our intentions.
And perhaps, the most magical moment of all…was a simple bottle, filled from a hose next to Tara—Because the universe always gives you what you truly need. As long as you ask with all your heart.
